Governor Greg Abbott has announced that his Public Safety Office will award more than $500 million in grants to improve public safety initiatives across Texas. The funding, which comes from both federal and state sources, will go toward essential programs such as victim services, anti-human trafficking measures, border security, and law enforcement assistance.

"Ensuring the safety and security of Texans is our top priority in Texas," Governor Greg Abbott said. "These public safety grants will provide critical funding to strengthen Texas agencies and organizations as they work to secure the border, prevent human trafficking, ensure justice for victims, and protect Texans from dangerous criminals and violence."

The program seeks to strengthen the state's commitment to public safety by supporting the efforts of agencies and groups that address some of the most important issues confronting Texas residents.

The funds will be used to strengthen local law enforcement, improve anti-human trafficking programs, and guarantee that victims of crime have access to necessary services. Border security will also receive substantial funding, highlighting the state's continuous efforts to manage and handle issues along the Texas-Mexico border.

This significant investment in public safety underscores the state's commitment to protecting its citizens while maintaining justice and security in all areas of Texas. Local agencies and groups are required to use these money to directly address the needs of their communities while also strengthening statewide safety measures.
