Former President Donald Trump is expected to visit Austin on Friday, causing traffic congestion at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport. The city has been asked to increase security and close roads for Trump's press conference and "The Joe Rogan Experience."

Austin officials restricted all lanes of State Highway 71, including frontage roads, between U.S. Highway 183 and Woodward Street throughout the event. U.S. 183 may be closed between SH 71 and Burleson Road, delaying commuters.

City administrators recommend drivers use public transportation and alternative routes when possible, although Interstate 35 will not be affected. Residents should avoid parking on city-affected roadways.

The South Terminal may see delays at Emma Browning Avenue, but AUS's Barbara Jordan Terminal should not be affected. Airport officials advise tourists and employees to allow more time for the airport.

President Trump will hold a press conference at Million Air at the South Terminal. Migrant criminality and border security will be discussed at the meeting. The event begins at 12:30 p.m. Trump and Joe Rogan will record "The Joe Rogan Experience" in Rogan's Lake Austin studio after the press conference. City officials are bracing for congestion along major arteries due to recent threats, which have increased security. Trump's travel path has not been disclosed.
