The Texas Book Festival has formally announced its 2024 author lineup, which includes more than 200 participants, including local celebrity Matthew McConaughey. On Nov. 16-17, the annual event will be held on Congress Avenue in front of the Texas State Capitol, with free admission available for most sessions.
Malcolm Gladwell, author of Outliers, and Ernest Cline, author of Ready Player One, are among the authors included in the top-billed lineup. Actor-turned-author McConaughey, recognized for his memoir Greenlights, is also included. Rumaan Alam, author of Entitlement, is another significant figure.
Additionally, several Austin-based writers are scheduled to participate, including Breanna Carzoo (The Squish), Jennifer Chang (An Authentic Life), May Cobb (The Hollywood Assistant), Erin Cotter (By Any Other Name), Evan Griffith (The Strange Wonders of Roots), Gambino Iglesias (House of Bone and Rain), and Eliza Kinkz (Mamá's Magnificent Dancing Plantitas).
General admission to the festival is free; however, ticketed sessions for McConaughey and Gladwell are priced at $35 each separately. Expected to draw literary enthusiasts from all over the globe, the festival will commemorate both local talent and international bestsellers.
