A message from Principal Alex Hassett to parents says that Carl Innmon, an Austin ISD teacher at Baranoff Elementary, has been arrested again and is now facing new charges for making explicit content with his students using AI.
Investigators found a lot of child sexual abuse material made from student photos on devices they took from Innmon's home, which is what led to the new charges. According to court papers, hundreds of thousands of these pictures were found. There are no charges against Innmon for having child pornography on his person, having child pornography on his person with the plan to promote it, and having and promoting lewd visual material of a child. He is being held in state jail on these charges.
Innmon was arrested again on March 14th, even though he had already made bond for the first charges. He was held in the Travis County Jail before being released.
On top of the $75,000 bond he had already paid, the new charges meant that his bond had to be increased to $30,000. As a condition of his release, he is not allowed to talk to or interact with children, and stay away from places where minors are known to gather or use the internet. The same rules apply to children as to the $10,000 bond for the lewd visual material charge. O
n April 10th, Innmon will be back in court for the next time. 1. Police and the school board are working together on the investigation.
