AUSTIN- Austin's art scene is flourishing as the summer draws close, with a series of captivating exhibitions that bring flowery feels of social justice and art with a message. The city's galleries present diverse artists and themes, ensuring art enthusiasts have a rich cultural experience.

This fall, Austin's art venues are presenting a diverse selection of exhibitions.

"Another Side: Art of Borders and Displacement" by Meena Matai, on view at Link and Pin until September 29, features vibrant, map-inspired pieces that underscore the resilience of refugees and the intricate reality of borders. 

ArtUs Co is currently exhibiting "Realms of Fungi," a group exhibition until September 28. The exhibition will showcase the work of over 40 artists who investigate the diverse and frequently whimsical realm of fungi. 

"Trying to Fit In," an exhibition by Julia Lucey at the Wally Workman Gallery, is on view until September 29. The exhibition blends traditional aquatint etching with collage and painting to address environmental issues through endearing yet poignant depictions of animals in costumes. 

Dave "Big Dutch" Nally's "Big Dutch Art Show," which will be displayed at Yard Dog from September 7 to October 5, employs bold text and whimsical imagery to address social issues with humor and critique. 

Finally, GrayDuck Gallery's "Chronicles: A Retrospective" is on view until October 6. It commemorates Katherine Brimberry's influential career in printmaking and provides a comprehensive examination of her personal works and artistic development. 

These exhibitions reflect the dynamic and diverse art landscape of Austin, providing viewers with visually captivating and thought-provoking experiences.
