AUSTIN, Texas— The Austin Police Department reported that a male was fatally shot in an officer-involved shooting near West Anderson Lane and Wooten Park Drive on Tuesday night. The shooting took place after police responded to a complaint at 10:59 p.m. regarding an armed man who was attempting to enter a nail salon and convenience store.

According to Austin Police Chief Lisa Davis, the person in question was in possession of a firearm and declined to comply with the officers' orders to lower his weapon and elevate his hands. No officers were injured during the confrontation, and an investigation is currently underway. The police have advised vehicles to anticipate delays as the investigation continues into Wednesday morning, as the area of West Anderson Lane near Burnet Road has been closed off.

The man's identity has not yet been disclosed, and the police have not disclosed any additional information regarding the incident.
